Wambli, a student at Black Hills State University, is pursuing a degree in political science. A proud descendant of Navajo and Lakota heritage, he was recognized as a 2024 Champion for Change for his commitment to driving positive change in his community. Currently serving as the Secretary for the National Congress of American Indians Youth Commission, Wambli continues to advocate for impactful initiatives that uplift Native communities.
Wambli served on the Cheyenne River Youth Project (CRYP)’s Youth Advisory Council in 2023 and participated in CRYP’s Growing into Wowachineyepi program, embracing challenges to create lasting change. Inspired by his grandmother, Bernadine Little Thunder, he envisions expanding opportunities in sustainable energy and green practices for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe’s people and land.
