I am a student enrolled in the Art program at Miccosukee Indian School.

Home means a family that is here with us or in spirits and our prayers. Home means friends, family, and our tribes. My late dad was Miccosukee. My mom is Santee Sioux. Community means fellowship with family, friends, and our tribe where we share our goals, interests and attitudes. Community is both a place and people that connect spiritually and mentally. My pieces altogether represent the Otter clan on the day the community gathered. Men and women are standing around the fire while praying to our ancestors. While praying, the men were singing while the women were shaking the shakers.
