Jacob Brittingham (Choctaw) is a student at the George Washington University and is active with the GWU Students of Indigenous and Native American Rights group.
Jacob hosted an Indigenous Impact event celebrating the achievements of Native professionals in the federal government dedicated to supporting Indian country, empowering Native youth and strengthening tribal sovereignty. Kelbie Kennedy, FEMA’s National Tribal Affairs Advocate, and Concetta Tsosie de Haro, Legislative Affairs Specialist at the Department of the Interior, spoke to more than 15 students about their personal journeys and how they honor their Chahta and Diné heritage in Washington, DC.
