Elena Dominguez is a queer mixed Mexican Indigenous artist, from the Pascua Yaqui tribe in Arizona. They study natural resources and public policy as they determine the People’s quality of life.
The Yaqui are matrilineal. Our mother, Maala mecha, Mother Moon, is the mother of all creation. The Pascua Yaqui have an established Día del Nino, so we celebrate the power of children, especially between this plane and the Flower World. In Guadalupe there is an abandoned pueblo and I am Puebloan on my mother’s side.
