My piece depicts an Indigenous woman, whose voice was silenced through violence, receiving her justice. My hope for the future is that all murdered and missing Indigenous women, as well as two-spirited individuals, get their own justice. Indigenous communities have suffered through so much and with justice for our loved ones we will begin to heal. As a young Indigenous woman, I should not have to worry about the statistics that threaten my life and I want better for my younger cousins. I want the government to prioritize our lives and to start protecting Indigenous communities.
