Wambli, a senior at Dupree High School, lives in Eagle Butte, South Dakota on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation. He is a proud Navajo and Lakota descendant. Actively involved in the National Honor Society and academics in school, he explores his STEM interest through the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. Having attended multiple conferences and helped host a STEM night in his community.
Wambli served on CRYP’s Youth Advisory Council for 2023 and he is engaged in CRYP’s Growing into Wowachineyepi program, he embraces challenges to drive lasting change in his community.
Inspired by his grandmother, Bernadine Little Thunder, Wambli envisions expanding opportunities in sustainable energy and green practices for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe’s people and land. As a senior, he stands on the brink of new educational and personal journeys, embodying resilience and aspiration in his commitment to positive change.
