About Mazie’s Project
Understanding that a clean environment is crucial for the well-being of all residents, Mazie hosted a community Clean Up Day in Summer 2024. She aimed to not only improve the physical appearance of the community, but also to inspire others to take pride in caring for Mother Earth. Mazie provided cleaning supplies, transportation to the dump and refreshments for all participants. In addition to Brave Heart funding, Mazie received support from local businesses and tribal departments.
Ultimately, the community came together to remove 30 pounds of litter and 15 pounds of recyclable material. Mazie believes the volunteer day will have long-term benefits for her community, including heightened environmental awareness and enhanced spirit. She hopes to secure partnerships and advance local educational programs to support routine cleanups in the future.
