Aerius Benton-Banai

Boozhoo! My name is Changing Sky Woman or Aerius. I’m of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe Tribe and Oneida Nation of the Thames. I’m bullhead fish clan. Since I was a little girl, I felt compelled and privileged to learn the traditions of the Ojibwe Anishinaabe people that was passed down to us from generation to generation. I took every opportunity to learn who I am and with that, flourished a love of creating mostly for traditional items. My real passion is to revive these traditional arts that bring us a genuine sense of identity.

This is a jingle dress I created using gold embossed Anishinaabe Bimishimo jingles, crepeback satin, Ojibwe floral designs, and white and gold Rick rack.
