My name is Asher and I am in 10th grade. I am Choctaw, I am a Boy Scout and I am an artist. I have been working hard for the past few years to improve my art skills. I enjoy art because it is very fulfilling to put a lot of effort into a piece and see the fruits of my labor. It brings me joy and clarity to create.

My piece is an expressionistic view of how home and community make me feel. To me, I think home is like the warm touch of a loved one, slicing through trouble and worry. Home is comfort and reassurance, a place to be safe. I want my viewers to both feel and see my piece. I took artistic inspiration from Van Gogh and Monet. The piece is acrylic on canvas.
