NAVAJO
An Acrylic on canvas piece based on White Shell Woman with the girl drawn, who is also a depiction of my younger sister. As it figuratively and literally symbolizes past knowledge towards my Navajo heritage, with the inclusion of symbols of the four sacred mountains, corn stocks, and the Navajo basket. While also referencing the future and the continuation of knowledge and tradition through the girl. As well as showing the power that youth hold in being able to heal Native communities and work to restore traditions and original way of life from the past in a new form.
