
Te Maia Wiki (she/her) belongs to the Yurok people from the mouth of the Klamath River, the Ngāti Porou and the Te Aupōuri people of Aotearoa (New Zealand). She is currently a sophomore undergraduate student majoring in Environmental Studies and Political Science at Yale University, with a concentration in Global Health.
As a young Indigenous person, she understands the well-being of people is intrinsically linked to the well-being of the land and acts to maintain balance between the two through political advocacy and community organizing. Te Maia has worked with organizations like Wingspan Media, Save California Salmon and the California Native Vote Project. She was a youth leader on Rogue Climate’s Youth Action Team and electrification campaign. In December 2023, she served as a youth delegate at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP28, in Dubai.
