
Emoni Durham (she/her) is a first year college student who works as a program assistant for Native Sisters Circle in Sacramento, CA. She is passionate about leadership, advocacy and community service. Throughout her academic journey, she has been committed to uplifting underrepresented communities and creating inclusive spaces. As President of the Black Student Union in high school, Emoni organized events and initiatives that promoted cultural awareness, student empowerment and social justice. Serving as Varsity Basketball Captain also allowed her to mentor teammates, foster teamwork and develop strong leadership skills.
Beyond school, Emoni has been actively involved in initiatives that support diversity, equity and inclusion. She is deeply committed to increasing BIPOC representation in sports medicine and ensuring that diverse athletes receive culturally competent care. Her goal is to use her platform to advocate for equitable access to healthcare and mentorship opportunities for underrepresented students pursuing careers in sports medicine.
