Cherokee & Shawnee

Jori Cowley (she/her) is a proud Citizen of the Cherokee Nation and descendent of the Shawnee Tribe from Tulsa, OK. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Native American Studies. Jori currently serves as a Program Manager at Leadership Tulsa where she facilitates community engagement and impact programs and leads program evaluation. In 2024, she received the honor of being selected for the Unity 25 under 25 Leadership Award. Jori aims to strengthen tribal sovereignty in Oklahoma through intergenerational leadership and community collaboration.

During her time as a 2025 Remembering Our Sisters Fellow, Jori plans to build a toolkit and look book with MMIWG2S+ legislation and resources.
