Tatiwyat Buck

Tatiwyat comes from the Wanapum, Yakama and Colville tribes. She grew up in Priest Rapids Village – raised in a longhouse and immersed in religion, faith and culture – listening to the teachings and stories of her elders. She feels lucky to have grown up this way, and wants to ensure more young people have the same opportunity. Her desire to make sure ‘luck’ isn’t the only factor allowing others to grow up this way drives her to fight for Native rights.

During her time as a 2025 Brave Heart Fellow, Tatiwyat plans to present the importance of the first foods through storytelling and data.
