Maiyuraq Jones

Maiyuraq (Maiyu) Lauryn Nanouk Jones (she/her) is Inupiat/Inuit from Unalakleet, Alaska. Maiyu is currently an undergraduate student at Western Washington University, where she is studying Environmental Science with an emphasis in Freshwater and Terrestrial Ecology. Maiyu is co-chair of the Native American Student Union at Western, and serves on the Board of Directors for Arctic Youth Network and on the Chairship Youth Committee for the Arctic Council. She is also a 2024 Udall Scholar, 2024-25 Caleb Scholar and a 2023-24 Arctic Youth Ambassador.
