Samantha Hintz (she/her) is an enrolled member of the Sault Ste Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, born and raised in Rockford, MI. She was given the name Aanakwadoons (Little Cloud) from her uncle as a child. Currently based in Washington, DC, she supports both the operations and programs teams through the various fellowships, initiatives and events offered throughout the year.
In 2021, Samantha received her Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive and Linguistic Science from Wellesley College. Since graduating, and throughout her degree, she has maintained a focus on Indigenous advocacy through the lens of language and mental health. Prior to joining CNAY in May 2023, Samantha worked as an events manager promoting Indigenous language reclamation while working with over 20 different languages.
Samantha is passionate about language reclamation and working to empower Indigenous young people through building community alongside their passions. She is thrilled to be a part of CNAY, and honored to be working alongside and on behalf of Native youth.
